Blue Blazer

2 peel
A yellow citrus fruit. The peel is often used as a garnish while the juice incorporated into the drink for a tart flavor profile (citric acid).
2 tsp
A so-called 'raw' cane sugar that was never refined into white sugar. The sugar molasses has been removed by gravitational separating in a centrifuge. It can be made into a simple syrup by a 1:1 sugar:water ratio by mass.

Scotch, is malt whisky or grain whisky made in Scotland. Originally made from malted barley, with the addition of wheat and rye. It must be aged for at least 3 years in oak barrels.

You know what this is, dihydrogen monoxide. Used in cocktails to aide dilution and dissolution. It is liquid at room temperature but becomes solid 'ice' at 0 Celsius. Did you know ice is a mineral?

Makes 2 drinks. Place a lemon peel in each of two teacups or small, heavy glasses. To prevent a fire, pour some water in a baking sheet over which you’ll make the blue blazer. Dim the lights.Have ready two one-pint mugs, ideally metal with a flared lip. Pour sugar and 3 ounces of boiling water into one mug and then add the scotch. Ignite alcohol with a long match and pour about half the liquid into empty mug, then pour that back into the first mug. Repeat four or five times. Proceed quickly but with great caution. Pour drink into cups and cover with tea towel to extinguish flame. #batch #roll #straight #hot
