A wine made from non-colored grape pulp (skin removed), primarily white grapes.
A sweet dark red blackcurrant liqueur. Consumed as a digestif or in cocktails like the Kir; 15% ABV.
A yellow citrus fruit. The peel is often used as a garnish while the juice incorporated into the drink for a tart flavor profile (citric acid).

A favorite of the mayor of Dijon, Canon Felix Kir, who was revered for his work in the French resistance during WWII. The drink is traditionally made of ingredients from Burgundy, a wine from aligote grapes and a black currant liqueur (cassis).
