A gin that contains no sweetening agents; usually around 40% ABV. Try Monkey 47.

Also refered to as French vermouth, these are (usually) colorless vermouths that have not been sweetened, containing less than 4% sugar.

Known for the Martini, the cocktail olive is the fruit of the olive tree, pickled is a salty brine. This may or may not be stuffed with pimento (red bell pepper).
1 twist
A yellow citrus fruit. The peel is often used as a garnish while the juice incorporated into the drink for a tart flavor profile (citric acid).
Pour ingredients into a mixing glass with ice, stir for about 8-10 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass or martini glass. Garnish with an olive and/or a lemon twist. #stir #straight
This is based on the original recipe found in "Bar Keeper's Handbook" - 1884, called the Turf Club Cocktail. The original recipe called for equal parts Italian vermouth and Old Tom gin, as well as two or three dashes of Peruvian bitters.
